Produce Sales Associate

Job Summary:

As a Produce Sales Associate, you will ensure the department maintains quality, freshness, safety, and visual appeal at all times. You will assist customers, stock and prepare products, and support a positive shopping experience while upholding Hannaford’s commitment to excellent service and fresh food standards.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers with locating and selecting products.
• Perform assigned stocking, culling, and rotation procedures in accordance with established guidelines.
• Prepare, trim, package, and scale products according to standards and quality goals.
• Perform assigned cleaning duties to maintain sanitation and food safety standards.
• Adhere to highest product quality standards to support department goals.
• Achieve productivity standards as outlined in Management Planning.
• Develop product knowledge in various areas of the produce department.
• Support a positive customer experience by being friendly, helpful, and attentive.
• Assist in training new associates as assigned.
• Perform other functions and duties as directed by supervision.

• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Stand and walk 100% of the time.
• Frequent bending, reaching, grasping, and lifting at or above waist level.
• Reach shoulder level or above while lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Work in cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time.
• Use hands to handle produce, tools, packaging, and cleaning materials.
• Tolerate handling of food and cleaning substances as part of job functions.
• Meet established department volume and activity standards.
