Responsibilities of Store Meat Clerk:

• In the role of a Store Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will be an integral part of a department that attracts a large number of customers
• As a Store Meat Clerk, you are expected to provide top-tier customer service, adhere to strict food safety guidelines, and have a deep understanding of product knowledge and preparation techniques.
• A hands on position, the Store Meat Clerk receives, stores, and grinds meats; unloads and transports fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck; counts and weighs incoming articles and compares results against an invoice; and examines meats in storage and rotates meats to avoid aging.
• A Store Meat Clerk provides a high level of prompt and friendly customer service; assists customers with questions, and special orders and needs, while maintaining a positive, customer focused work environment.
• The Store Meat Clerk possesses an awareness of the weekly advertisement items, assists shoppers with finding products throughout the store, and adheres to the Clean as You Go and Fresh at 4 guidelines.
• This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department. If youre someone who thrives in a fast pace environment then we want to hear from you!

Qualifications of Store Meat Clerk:

• Eligibility criteria include being at least 18 years old, having a high school diploma or a similar certification, and showing a basic proficiency in math, weights, and measures.
• Demonstrate trustworthiness and reliability in completing assigned responsibilities, and be prepared to take on supplementary duties as required.
• Show a cheerful and amicable demeanor; convey optimism and possess the ability to engage with our clientele.
• Exhibit the ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule that fluctuates with the business demands, potentially requiring availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills and the capability to engage in teamwork are important qualities to have
• Fulfill routine janitorial tasks within the department; sanitize and organize the working environment (comprising tables, floors, walls, display cases, refrigeration units, freezers, etc.).
• Comply with safety regulations, health protocols, accurate measuring standards, and the designated recipes of the company
• The job requires individuals to be able to stand for up to 4 hours without a break and for 8 hours in total per shift, while also walking up to 2 miles within an 8-hour period.
• Expected to operate in a temperature-regulated environment and perform general cleaning duties within the department; sanitize and clean the work area, including tables, floors, walls, refrigeration units, and freezers.
• Proper vision is necessary when handling sharp tools like knives, band saws, grinders, sausage makers, box cutters, wrapping machines, and meat tenderizers.
• Adept at lifting and carrying goods horizontally/vertically, weighing between 25 to 90 lbs, over distances of 4 to 60 feet, for a total of 20 hours.
• Use a pallet jack for horizontal movement of pallets weighing up to 500 lbs., necessitating a force of up to 85 lbs., a distance of up to 100 feet over a period of 5 hours.
• Slide racks of merchandise sideways, dealing with loads of up to 70 lbs., requiring a force of up to 25 lbs., for distances up to 50 feet over a 10-hour shift.
• Skilled at lifting and shifting tables that weigh a maximum of 70 lbs by exerting a force greater than 35 lbs and moving them up to 2 feet for a duration of 1 hour.
