Responsibilities of Retail Bakery Clerk:

• Assist the Bakery Manager in the planning, baking, packaging, pricing, and showcasing of baked goods within the store
• The role of the Retail Bakery Clerk entails providing exceptional customer service and overseeing the appropriate preparation, packaging, and presentation of Bakery items, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the cleanliness of the Bakery department
• To excel as a Retail Bakery Clerk, you must prioritize the cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of the bakery area and equipment. This entails tasks like cleaning shelves and products, maintaining spill-free floors, removing any hazardous debris, and sweeping the premises
• Ensure stock availability, restock shelves, display products neatly, and verify accurate pricing while inspecting the condition of bakery goods and discarding any outdated or spoiled items
• Review, verify, and log merchandise to ascertain the precision of the shipment, the thermal conditions, and the quality

Qualifications of Retail Bakery Clerk:

• The ideal candidate will have attained the age of 18, obtained a high school diploma or a similar certification, and accumulated 1-2 years of experience in a bakery environment, or a satisfactory amalgamation of education and practical know-how.
• Exhibit reliability and trustworthiness by being adaptable to a changing schedule that may encompass evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Present a cheerful and amiable demeanor, embodying positivity and adept interactions with our clients.
• Having excellent communication capabilities and being receptive to instructions and teamwork are vital qualities
• Be adept at answering phones while accommodating special requests from callers
• Keep the department clean and hygienic by performing general housekeeping duties, which include sanitizing and tidying workstations, floors, walls, coolers, and freezers.
• Be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed. Uses knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Candidates must be prepared to stand continuously for up to 3 hours and for the entire 8-hour shift in this role. Additionally, they should be able to lift trays weighing up to 5 lbs. and transfer them vertically between heights ranging from 7 to 64 inches for periods of up to 10 hours. Furthermore, they are expected to be capable of transferring items weighing up to 40 lbs. both vertically and horizontally between heights of 5 to 36 inches and covering distances of up to 36 feet for a maximum of 10 hours without relying on mechanical assistance.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures standards while pursuing and upholding a Food Handlers authorization.
