Job Summary:

Proofs and bakes all unfinished bakery goods by following each item's product handling information using ovens and/or other equipment. Unpacks bakery goods from the freezer and displays proper amounts based on bakery production chart recommendations, including safe handling and storage instructions.Maintains all cleaning and safety standards within the bakery department.

Core tasks, main responsibilities, and critical accountabilities:

• Provides answers to queries and recommends bakery treats. Handles customer calls and arranges bespoke orders.
• Utilizes ovens and other equipment to execute the baking and finishing of all bakery items in alignment with the handling directions for each product. Consults bakery production charts to inform the production process and display needs. Gathers products for readiness for the upcoming operational day.
• Packages an assortment of baked goods, such as cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, rolls, and cakes, depending on customer orders. Retrieves frozen baked items and exhibits the correct proportions based on the bakery's production recommendations.
• Enhances personalized or bespoke goods with decorative enhancements.
• Follows established protocols for handling bakery items, including rotating stock and storing products to maintain freshness and safety.
• Accepts, evaluates, and organizes bakery deliveries for storage. Implements procedures for rotating and storing bakery products in adherence to food safety, product freshness, and handling policies.
• Verifies the freshness and quality of products by performing daily checks to identify expired goods and enforcing the appropriate measures for handling them in accordance with company guidelines.
• Produces labels and price tickets for bakery merchandise and performs price verification tasks when necessary. Ensures the accuracy of all pricing.
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of bakery gear, display fixtures, and food preparation surfaces, like ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated showcases, display shelves, and tables.
• Handles bakery machinery and equipment by employing appropriate working methods in accordance with safety regulations and policies.
• Observes and follows all the rules and regulations of the club.
• Undertakes supplementary responsibilities as instructed, which may involve functioning in alternative departments as necessary.
• Consistent, planned, complete attendance is an integral part of this position.

Qualifications:

• Having previous experience in a bakery or customer service setting is a plus.
• Experience with bakery goods preferred.
• At least 18 years is the minimum age requirement.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• The majority of the time is dedicated to navigating non-hard surfaces. On occasion, there may be a need to position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, which can involve bending, handling, pulling, reaching, pushing, and/or stooping.
• The role may require lifting items up to 30 pounds on a regular basis. It may also involve lifting and moving heavy or awkward objects that weigh more than 30 pounds with the assistance of others.
• Located in a comfortable indoor environment with frequent exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
• Regular exposure to cleaning agents is typical.
