Grocery Produce Stocker

Role and Responsibilities:

The Grocery Produce Stocker is responsible for keeping the produce department fresh, well-organized, and customer-friendly. You will ensure high product quality while supporting efficient department operations and providing excellent service.

• Welcome and assist customers with selecting produce and providing product information.
• Arrange and maintain visually appealing displays of fruits and vegetables.
• Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and remove damaged or expired items to ensure freshness.
• Check that all produce is properly priced and labeled for accuracy.
• Receive and inspect deliveries, ensuring all products meet quality standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking requirements promptly.
• Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the department and storage areas.
• Work closely with team members, store management, and other departments.
• Assist in training new produce clerks or team members as needed.
• Support other departments during high-volume periods or as directed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong customer service focus and commitment to delivering excellent experiences.
• Basic knowledge of fruits and vegetables with a willingness to grow product expertise.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Attention to detail to maintain cleanliness and organization standards.
• Team-oriented with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, proactive, and dedicated work ethic.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Minimum age requirement: 18 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

• No prior produce experience required; previous grocery or retail experience is a plus.
• Basic math skills for pricing and cash handling.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly wage: $15.00 - $17.00, based on experience and location.
