Job Summary of Frozen Grocery Assistant:

The Frozen Grocery Assistant works with the Dairy/Frozen Manager to help run the department successfully and maintain profitability. Duties include stocking and rotating products, keeping dairy and frozen items fresh and well-presented, unloading shipments, checking dates, arranging displays, and verifying accurate pricing and labels.

Responsibilities of Frozen Grocery Assistant:

• Ensuring that top-quality customer service is the main focus.

• Helping the department manager in sourcing products for the dairy and frozen departments and managing inventory with precision.
• Assisting department managers with the management of margin, COGs, and department profitability, which involves minimizing shrinkage and enhancing purchasing effectiveness.
• Affirming that all available products meet the specified standards set by the company.
• Facilitating personalized requests and giving regular updates on them.
• Retail display shelving, endcap features, and engaging exhibit showcases.
• Assisting with the coordination and involvement in labeling, displaying, rearranging, cleaning, reducing prices, restocking, and organizing additional inventory.
• Assigning tasks and monitoring the execution and completion by department personnel.
• In active demos, presenters demonstrate product usage in real-time, while passive demos may rely on pre-recorded videos or slideshows.
• Collaborating with department managers to improve performance within the department.
• - Helping with store opening and closing activities by managing tasks like the Daily Sales Report (DSR), cash handling, and ensuring completion of cashier closeout responsibilities.
• Managing register operations includes overseeing backup cashier responsibilities, processing customer refunds, addressing customer complaints, and handling register shift changes, including coverage during scheduled breaks.
• Protecting the well-being and security of clients and staff members.
• Addressing customer queries according to company standards and practices, which may involve using health-promoting statements or emphasizing nutritional support.
• Continually enriching awareness of products.
• Applying SAP and inventory management software, in addition to emailing and utilizing various other IS programs as necessary.
• Working a schedule based on store needs which includes evenings, weekends, holidays. Position requires working five days, 40 hours per week and attending mandatory store meetings.
• The role has a set of manager on duty responsibilities that do not encompass overseeing the store's overall operations.

Qualifications of Frozen Grocery Assistant:

• Having a high school diploma, GED, or a similar equivalent is desirable.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have worked for at least a year in a grocery or retail environment, particularly if they have experience with natural foods.
• Supervisory background of at least one year preferred.
• Meeting legal obligations by completing vital food safety training programs and certifications and maintaining compliance through regular certification updates and appropriate registration if applicable.
