It is the duty of the Grocery Dairy Clerk to manage the stocking and cleanliness of the dairy and frozen sections within the store while it is open for business. They should be ready to assist customers when necessary and exhibit a pleasant and dynamic attitude throughout their shifts. Following the operational guidelines specified by the Dairy department is a fundamental aspect of this role.

Responsibilities of Grocery Dairy Clerk:

• Ensures the safety of the dairy cases, storage, and work area by keeping them clean, which involves tasks such as cleaning shelves and products, eliminating liquid spills, and removing hazardous debris from the floor
• Maintain the presentation of dairy products by filling and facing items in the dairy cases to meet the standards set by the Dairy Department for optimal product visibility and accessibility to customers
• This assessment delves into the practice of rotating dairy goods, especially in terms of detecting expired stock and disposing of items that are outdated or have spoiled
• Shows a proactive approach in handling customer inquiries and guiding them through their purchases, informing them about products, and aiding in product choices; involves the promotion and upselling of different products
• Inspects, records, and verifies the accuracy of products received, their storage conditions in terms of temperature, and their quality
• Manages the positioning of purchase indicators. Confirms the availability of diverse cooking instructions, product rebate coupons, promotional content, and information on complimentary snacks
• Necessitates the operation and use of equipment such as blades, measuring tools, packaging machines, waste compactors, garbage disposals, pallet handlers, and manual carts
• Utilizes knowledge of scales and weight measurements for precise product weighing and labeling
• Keeps a thorough grasp of the products and their appropriate ways of preparation
• Consistently checking the department by walking around to ensure it remains well-organized, clean, and hygienic
• One may be expected to carry out various other assignments

Those under 18 are not permitted to participate in the tasks mentioned for team members:

• Application of a blade, excluding safety cutters, in cutting activities
• Using a ladder
• Running a compactor for trash or cardboard materials
• Utilizing motorized or electronically operated equipment, including manual pallet jacks
• Prolonged stays inside refrigerated areas like coolers or freezers

Qualifications of Grocery Dairy Clerk:

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Being dependable encompasses the capacity to work flexible hours that can fluctuate, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Display a proactive approach and proficiency in interacting with our clients

• Efficient in handling repetitive duties, multitasking effectively, arranging tasks based on their significance, and upholding a sense of organization
• Transferring boxes or crates weighing 40-60 lbs, either horizontally from 5 to 72 or vertically from 62 to 9, for distances up to 10 feet without the use of any mechanical assistance is required for a duration of 6-50 hours
• Able to traverse a distance of 5 miles while working for 8 hours
• Accessing shelves is limited to one step per 8-hour shift, using a two-step stool for height assistance
• Have the capacity to travel a maximum of 3 miles over the course of an 8-hour shift
• Abide by all safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures standards
• Be ready to undertake other associated duties as requested
