Meat Handling Associate

Job Summary of Meat Handling Associate:

Responsible for wrapping and packaging meat and associated products in accordance with company standards. Ensure that products are accurately labeled, stored under the correct temperature conditions, and arranged neatly to preserve quality and safety.

Responsibilities of Meat Handling Associate:

• Wrap, weigh, price, and label meats and related products.
• Order supplies for department (wrapping materials and labels).
• Communicate low stocked items to the department manager.
• Stock display case.
• Communicate temperature failure to department manager.
• Provide friendly, courteous customer assistance.
• Maintain good cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Observe policies and procedures established for the department.
• Observe all state, local, and federal health, weights, and measures laws.
• Greet all customers and be observant.
• Abid by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.
• Assist in the maintenance of the price book.

Qualifications of Meat Handling Associate:

• Capability in comprehending and transcribing data for precise product identification.
• The ability to manipulate objects with precision is required for wrapping and handling tasks.
• Must have the capacity to work with frozen or refrigerated meats in cold environments for more than half (55%) of the time throughout an eight-hour shift.
• The job demands the capacity to withstand frigid temperatures, including but not limited to being exposed to conditions below minus fifteen degrees Fahrenheit for up to five percent of the standard eight-hour work period.
• Need to be able to carry up to seventy pounds throughout a significant portion of the work period.
