Job Summary of Cashier:

Provide friendly and efficient service to customers at retail locations operating 24 / 7 by processing orders at a two - aisle check stand, multi - station self - checkout (SCO) lane, or customer service desk.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Cashier:

• Welcome, engage, and assist customers with enthusiasm and professionalism.
• Operate check stand equipment such as cash registers, scanners, and scales to process orders accurately.
• Handle monetary transactions including cash, checks, gift certificates, vouchers, coupons, and refunds while adhering to cash handling policies.
• Maintain clean, neat, and well - stocked check stands and ensure a safe work area.
• Stock, price, rotate merchandise, and maintain knowledge of current product locations and UPC codes.
• Assist at multi - station self - checkout lanes and customer service counters as needed.
• Engage customers at self - checkout kiosks, monitor alerts / errors, and ensure accurate transactions.
• Follow all state and federal laws concerning restricted items and USDA Food Stamp / WIC voucher procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, ensuring safety and efficiency in all tasks.

Qualifications and Experience of Cashier:

• Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in a 24 / 7 operation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle customer relations tactfully.
• Manual dexterity and good hand / eye coordination; ability to lift / maneuver objects up to 20 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn for extended periods.
• Ability to learn PLU codes, product locations, check stand procedures, and company policies.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and verifying sales.
• Must be 16 years of age or older; food safety / handlers cards and alcohol / tobacco certifications may be required by state law.

Salary

USD $17.50 - USD $25.50 per hour.
