Job Summary of Pharmacy Cashier:

This position is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the pharmacy department by assisting with prescription processing, customer inquiries, and maintaining an organized and safe work environment. The individual will also support operational functions and ensure a smooth workflow in the pharmacy area.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Pharmacy Cashier:

• Deliver superior customer service, greet customers, answer non-medical questions, and resolve minor customer issues in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Assist customers at the register by processing sales of prescriptions, OTC products, groceries, and other items for sale.
• Help identify customer needs, locate products, and promote services and products in collaboration with pharmacists.
• Operate and maintain equipment, such as registers and phones, to assist in customer service.
• Retrieve prescriptions and necessary information required for prescription processing and work with pharmacy technicians and pharmacists to assign wait times.
• Assist customers with completing first-time patient information forms and collect insurance or discount cards as necessary.
• Provide customer assistance during prescription pick-up, ensuring prescriptions are accurately selected and payments are processed following Weis Markets policies.
• Unpack and put away pharmacy orders to support department operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment to support pharmacists and pharmacy staff.
• Immediately report any suspected prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
• Follow all department policies and state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
• Perform additional job-related duties as required and support Weis Markets' Mission, Vision, and Values.

Qualifications and Experience of Pharmacy Cashier:

• Completed or working towards a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Valid driver's license for business travel purposes.
