Role and Responsibilities:
As a Personal Care Clerk, you will ensure the health, beauty, and personal care department is fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing. You will support daily operations, assist customers, and maintain merchandising standards to deliver an exceptional shopping experience.
- Replenish and organize health and beauty care products following company standards and planograms.
- Confirm all items are accurately priced, clearly labeled, and attractively displayed.
- Monitor stock levels and promptly alert the department supervisor to inventory shortages or product issues.
- Rotate merchandise using the “first in, first out” process to ensure freshness and product quality.
- Welcome and assist customers in locating products and provide knowledgeable support for their HBC needs.
- Offer information about product features, promotions, and store policies in a professional and friendly manner.
- Recommend products based on customer preferences and provide helpful usage guidance.
- Set up promotional and seasonal displays that highlight featured or discounted products.
- Maintain current and accurate signage for new arrivals, discounts, and promotional campaigns.
- Ensure the department remains tidy, clean, and free from clutter throughout the day.
- Unload deliveries, perform regular inventory checks, and support stock audits as needed.
- Identify expired or damaged products and remove them promptly from the sales floor.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to maintain efficient department operations.
- Assist in training new associates and share best practices for managing the HBC section effectively.
- Comply with company policies, quality assurance standards, and all safety protocols.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in retail or customer service, ideally in a grocery, pharmacy, or health and beauty environment.
- Understanding of consumer products, particularly in the health and beauty category, is preferred.
- Strong customer service abilities and comfort interacting with a diverse customer base.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage product stocking and maintain a clean work area.
- High attention to detail to ensure product accuracy, labeling, and presentation quality.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Physical capability to lift and move up to 50 lbs, with the ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of current trends in health and beauty care products.
- Experience using retail tools such as point-of-sale systems, scanners, or inventory software.
- Familiarity with merchandising principles and effective product display strategies.
