The task involves packaging meat and related items as per company guidelines, including proper labeling, storage at the suitable temperature, and orderly presentation to maintain quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities of Meat Prep Clerk:

• Bundle, check heaviness, assign pricing, and affix tags on meats and corresponding merchandise.
• Secure wrapping materials and labels for departmental use through an ordering process.
• Advise the department manager of items that are running out of stock.
• Stock display case.
• Advise the department manager about the breakdown in temperature control.
• Deliver customer assistance with a positive and polite attitude.
• Sustain cleanliness and cleanliness practices within the home.
• Respect and abide by the established standards and processes for the department.
• Comply with regulations on health, weights, and measures set forth by different tiers of government.
• Offer a warm welcome to all visitors while remaining vigilant of their requests.
• Observe and respect the protocols established in the official company Employee Handbook.
• Aid in keeping the price book information current.

Qualifications of Meat Prep Clerk:

• Ability to read and write to properly tag products.
• Must have dexterity in hands to enable the wrapping and handling the products.
• Ability to be exposed to extreme cold while handling frozen or refrigerated meats at a minimum of fifty-five percent (55%) of the time over and eight (8) hour work schedule.
• Ability to go below minus fifteen degrees below zero (-15 degrees) up to five percent (5%) of the time during an eight (8) hour work schedule.
• Ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds at least forty percent (40%) of the time.
