Job Summary of Grocery Store Assistant Manager:

Assume responsibility for the overall store management in the absence of the Store Manager.Aid in overseeing store operations to accomplish financial and sales targets. Cultivate positive relationships with associates and customers to bolster a unified culture in line with the Hannaford Strategy.Maintain clear communication channels with the management team, store personnel, and other divisions within the company for effective coordination.

Qualification of Grocery Store Assistant Manager:

• College education or prior work experience in Retail Management is desired.
• Sound grasp of store functions and complete store merchandising methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, in addition to excellent communication and customer service capabilities.
• Competence in steering and organizing a group of people.
• Illustrated competence and enthusiasm in mastering a variety of assignments and the technical specifications essential for the position. Skilled in applying technical data to resolve issues successfully.
• Having the skill and readiness to accommodate a work schedule that satisfies the needs of the organization.
• The role requires individuals to have attained the designation of Certified Food Safety Manager through the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or a similar recognized certification body. Alternatively, candidates must be willing to undergo training provided by the company and obtain accreditation within the first 90 days of commencing their employment.
• Retaining accreditation is a requirement for those holding positions that mandate accreditation.

Physical Requirements of Grocery Store Assistant Manager:

• The job involves routine lifting of items up to 20 lbs, with overhead lifting included, and occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 60 lbs. Push or pull objects weighing up to 40 lbs routinely.
• Attain the set expectations for volume and activity.
• Stay standing or moving throughout the entire duration.
• Repeatedly extending, clutching, and hoisting separate stock items above or below specific levels.
• Repeatedly flexing, kneeling, and squatting.
• Be competent in managing various substances related to cleaning materials, packaging, and food products.
• Maintain tolerance for working in extreme heat or cold for intervals of up to 20 minutes.

• Bring in new associates to manage the Center Store operations and provide assistance in hiring for the entire store, as and when required.

• Create work timetables that balance production targets, customer service expectations, and employee satisfaction.
• Assist in meeting financial targets such as sales quotas, controlling the percentage of revenue allocated to payroll expenses, safeguarding gross profit margins, reducing shrinkage and waste, maximizing net sales efficiency, and managing overall expenditure.
• Promote a welcoming ambiance centered on attentive customer recognition, with a key focus on delivering friendly and courteous service.
• Follow all company policies and procedures as instructed.
• Ensure the maintenance of adequate control over store funds and assets of the organization.
• Full grasp of the root causes of inventory shrinkage challenges and the appropriate solutions to mitigate these issues in the designated sections.
• Watch over to confirm that company standards regarding security, safety, and food safety are being met at all times.
• Get a handle on how to employ corporate tools such as MPP applications, financial records, scheduling techniques, procurement methods, and commercial information systems.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the training manuals and customary procedures relevant to the Center Store. Ensure that all store information is handled with strict confidentiality.
