Dairy Frozen Food Specialist

Role and Responsibilities:

The Dairy-Frozen Food Specialist is responsible for managing the daily operations of the dairy and frozen food departments, ensuring excellent service, product freshness, and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:

• Customer Service: Foster a welcoming environment for customers; ensure shelves are merchandised and fully stocked; provide product suggestions and assist customers in locating items.
• Leadership: Promote teamwork and respect among associates; set and communicate merchandising, sales, and profit goals; develop effective schedules to manage customer traffic and ensure smooth operations.
• Financial Management: Monitor sales, shrinkage, and inventory conditions; perform administrative tasks such as training, scheduling, pricing, and ordering; maintain accurate temperature logs and product quality checks to comply with food safety standards.
• Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all USDA and COOL food safety regulations; manage product recalls and withdrawals; conduct safety training and inspections to ensure compliance with store safety protocols.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 0–3 years of supervisory or relevant experience.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (bilingual is a plus).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math proficiency.
• Ability to operate pallet jacks, balers, and trash compactors.
• Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
• Lift up to 30 lbs. and perform physical labor in varying environmental conditions, including cold/freezing areas.
• Exposure to fluctuating temperatures and hazardous equipment requires strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including occasional overnight shifts.
