Responsibilities:

• Create engaging and interactive food experiences by performing cooking demonstrations and sampling events tailored to local customer preferences.
• Share culinary knowledge including ingredient uses, cooking techniques, and beverage pairings to enhance customer engagement and drive sales.
• Act as a welcoming host, offering menu advice, meal planning assistance, and customizing recipes to meet dietary needs or preferences.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships by recalling their tastes, dietary restrictions, and beverage preferences.
• Support store events and cross-merchandising efforts by creating themed recipes and culinary content.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized Cooking Connection kitchen space adhering to all food safety, sanitation, and federal regulations.
• Assist with inventory management, stocking, and merchandising to ensure attractive and accurate product displays.
• Participate in food production for retail when required, following precise preparation methods and maintaining quality.
• Complete food safety trainings and certifications, including TABC and wine selling certifications, to uphold departmental standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Degree or certification in Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Home Economics, or related field preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in culinary, food preparation, or sales-related roles.
• Experience with food demonstrations, cooking in a professional environment, or product selling preferred.
• Completion or ability to complete TABC and H-E-B Wine selling certifications.
• Strong culinary skills including basic cooking techniques (grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency or aptitude to learn H-E-B systems such as recipe authoring, scheduling, ordering, and merchandising platforms.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
