In the position of a Meat Department Associate in the Meat Market department, your duties include offering courteous and prompt assistance to patrons, addressing queries, readying and overseeing meat selections, and securing a pleasant shopping journey. Your responsibilities encompass sustaining a hygienic and orderly workspace and backing up team members in their day-to-day functions.
Responsibilities of Meat Department Associate:
- Follow all company rules, protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to applicable Management Planning criteria and standards.
- Practice treating every team member with equity, honor, and politeness.
- Expand expertise on the assortment of meat items and their respective preparation techniques.
- Support in specific initiatives and fulfill other duties as delegated by the supervisor.
- Offer assistance in the training process for other team members.
- Ensure that you maintain a polished and professional look as per the company's personal grooming standards.
- Ensure consistent and clear communication within the department as well as across the organization.
- Adhere to the safety regulations mandated by the company. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues promptly. Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Adhere to and ensure compliance with the sanitation and food safety guidelines of the company.
- Fulfill any other responsibilities as delegated.
- Offer top-notch customer care by interacting with and supporting customers in product selection.
- Adhere to the prescribed procedures for labeling, pricing, and weighing various meat items as per standard operating protocols.
- Organize items in the fresh, frozen, and self-serve sections by adhering to appropriate rotation practices.
- Support meat cutting personnel by helping with tasks such as scraping and organizing products on trays, cubing steaks, and processing ground meats through grinding.
- Accept meat delivery, label, reposition, and store in the correct storage space.
- Carefully wash, rinse, and sanitize every case, wrapping spot, scale apparatus, cooler, and cutting room, ensuring that all equipment is taken apart and put back together as needed.
Qualifications of Meat Department Associate:
- Good interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment.
- Must meet minimum age requirements.
- Effective customer service and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.

- Handle meat products that weigh between 1 and 40 pounds as part of the job, with occasional lifting of items up to 100 pounds.
