Job Summary of Produce Department Associate:

As a member of the produce team, you will be tasked with maintaining the excellence of products, ensuring their appeal and safety, and enhancing the overall customer experience in line with Hannaford's dedication to superior service and fresh food offerings.

Responsibilities of Produce Department Associate:

• Provide a warm reception and support shoppers in locating and deciding on merchandise.
• Execute allocated restocking, weeding, and shifting functions in line with established procedures.
• Comply with standards and objectives when organizing, cutting, wrapping, and measuring products to ensure quality and consistency.
• Carry out specified cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and food safety standards are met.
• Ensure department objectives are met by following the highest standards of product quality.
• Attain the efficiency goals established in the Management Planning outline.
• Increase understanding of various items offered in the produce aisle.
• Foster a pleasant customer journey through friendly, useful, and attentive service.
• Support in the orientation process for new associates as designated.
• Execute various functions and responsibilities as directed by superiors.

• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Physical Requirements of Produce Department Associate:

• Regularly carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift loads of up to 75 lbs.
• Stay standing and mobile throughout the entire duration.
• Consistent inclining, stretching, clasping, and elevating objects at or above the midsection.
• Raise loads of up to 30 lbs to shoulder level or above during lifting procedures.
• Engage in work in low temperatures for periods of up to 20 minutes at a stretch.
• Employ hands for the handling of agricultural products, tools, packaging, and sanitation supplies.
• Handling food and cleaning products is a required duty in this position.
• Reach the specified levels of activity and volume expectations within the department.
