Store Manager

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Center Store Manager, you will support store operations to achieve financial and sales goals while building strong associate and customer relationships. You will provide leadership, ensure compliance with policies, and deliver outstanding customer experiences. Key responsibilities include:

• Manage the Grocery Department, including hiring, training, and developing associates.
• Supervise department performance, provide coaching, and conduct formal appraisals.
• Lead daily labor management and support productivity expectations.
• Promote a culture of exceptional customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Control store expenses through efficient ordering, supply management, and care of equipment.
• Use company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, CAO, scheduling, and business information systems.
• Maintain department appearance, safety, sanitation, and food safety standards.
• Write schedules to ensure extraordinary customer service coverage at all times.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, preparation, and display of merchandise.
• Monitor shrink and provide coaching to associates on loss prevention.
• Assist with semi-annual physical inventory and ensure accurate product counts.
• Ensure compliance with advertising, signage, local, state, and federal regulations.
• Adhere to security standards and report associate and customer accidents promptly.
• Complete Computer Based Training (CBT) and other required training programs.
• Recognize accomplishments and provide constructive coaching when needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Understanding of store operations preferred.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the role.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to use technical information effectively.
• Leadership skills with the ability to direct others.
• Must meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions.
• Accreditation as a Certified Food Safety Manager (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment and maintain while employed in the role).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to use computers and communication systems to perform job functions.
• Operate handheld devices for ordering, markdowns, and inventory tasks.
• Stand for extended periods and frequently walk short distances.
• Push or pull up to 2000 lbs. using a pallet jack or float.
• Bend and lift products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Perform repetitive hand and arm motions, reaching, and grasping.
• Handle cleaning supplies, packaging materials, and household cleaners.
• Work in hot or cold environments for up to 20 minutes at a time.
• Meet established volume and activity standards.
• Visual ability to read invoices, dates, and other documents accurately.
