Role and Responsibilities of Grocery Store Manager:

As a Manager for the Center Store, it will be your role to aid in the store's operations to meet financial objectives and sales targets, all the while cultivating positive relationships with both associates and customers. Your duties encompass providing guidance, upholding policy adherence, and guaranteeing exceptional customer service in every interaction. The primary responsibilities consist of

• Supervise the Grocery Department by overseeing the recruitment, education, and growth of team members.
• Oversee the department's progress, offer guidance, and carry out official evaluations.
• Supervise daily workforce organization and ensure operational efficiency goals are met.
• Encourage a work environment that prioritizes outstanding customer care and guarantees a pleasant shopping journey.
• Manage store costs by implementing effective strategies for purchasing, inventory control, and maintenance of equipment.
• Utilize corporate resources like financial statements, ACIS, CAO, timetabling, and enterprise data systems.
• Uphold the visual aesthetics, security, cleanliness, and hygiene regulations within the department.
• Develop timetables to guarantee exceptional customer service availability during all operational hours.
• Supervise the process of ordering, receiving, preparing, and showcasing merchandise.
• Supervise and offer guidance to employees regarding loss prevention measures.
• Offer support with biannual physical inventory checks to verify precise item quantities.
• Adhere to advertising, signage, and regulatory requirements at the local, state, and federal levels to maintain compliance.
• Follow security protocols and immediately document any incidents involving employees and clients.
• Fulfill all compulsory computer-based training modules and additional essential training sessions.
• Acknowledge achievements and offer guidance for improvement when necessary.
• Fulfill any other tasks as required.

Required Skills and Experience of Grocery Store Manager:

• It is preferable to have completed high school or attained an equivalent qualification.
• Outstanding abilities in interacting with others, managing tasks, conveying information effectively, and catering to customer needs.
• Experience with retail operations is preferred.
• Capacity to acquire various tasks and technical skills necessary for the position.
• Proficiency in addressing challenges and utilizing technical knowledge efficiently.
• Leadership qualities involving guiding and instructing individuals.
• It is essential to fulfill the designated age criteria for certain job responsibilities.
• Possession of a certification as a Certified Food Safety Manager is required for this position, or the candidate must be able to acquire it within 90 days of being hired and keep it current throughout their employment.

Physical Requirements of Grocery Store Manager:

• Proficiency in utilizing computers and communication tools for executing job tasks.
• Utilize portable gadgets to manage requests, reduce prices, and handle stock-related duties.
• Be on your feet for long periods and regularly cover brief distances by walking.
• Transport loads of up to 2000 lbs. with ease using a pallet jack or float by either pushing or pulling.
• Bend and raise items up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis, 25 lbs. frequently, and a maximum of 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Engage in repeated movements of the hands and arms, along with reaching and gripping actions.
• Manage maintenance products, wrapping supplies, and domestic disinfectants.
• Function in extreme temperatures for periods of up to 20 minutes.
• Achieve predetermined levels of productivity and workload.
• Accurate visual capability for reading invoices, dates, and various documents effectively.
