Job Summary of Pharmacy Order Clerk:
To provide top-notch patient care and exceptional customer service under the guidance of a pharmacist. Help with precise medication dispensing, prescription management, and offer essential information and support to patients.
Responsibilities of Pharmacy Order Clerk:
- Assist pharmacist in labeling and filling prescriptions;
- Assist patients in dropping off and picking up prescriptions;
- Entering prescriptions into the computer;
- Verify that customer receives correct prescription(s);
- Scheduling and maintaining workflow;
- Prepackage bulk medications;
- Screen calls for pharmacists;
- Medication ordering;
- Billing of third party insurers;
- Prepare medication inventories;
- Assisting in outpatient dispensing;
- Assisting inpatient dispensing;
- Purchasing and billing;
- Maintaining computerized records;
- Promoting sales and developing the business.
Qualifications of Pharmacy Order Clerk:
- Possessing manual skill in hands is essential for scanning or entering grocery items.
- Effective customer service necessitates possessing robust communication abilities.
- Proficiency in mathematics is essential for operating the cash registers effectively.
- Capable of lifting weights of up to 25 pounds for 40% of the working hours.
