Job Summary of Bakery Manager:

The associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing bakery inventories, decorating cakes and other bakery products, overseeing bakery associates, and ensuring smooth department operations. This role requires excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills to meet customer demands and achieve Weis Markets goals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Bakery Manager:

• Promote excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer-focused behavior with associates.
• Take customer orders over the phone or in person, creating finished decorated products in a timely fashion.
• Decorate cakes and bakery products, following company-approved recipes and designs.
• Manage department inventories, track sales, and ensure product availability to meet customer demands.
• Schedule, train, and oversee Bakery associates, rewarding performance and maximizing profits.
• Develop and implement merchandising plans to meet financial goals and monitor competitor activity.
• Track inventory and sales data to calculate monthly profits, maintaining associate records and reports.
• Verify department deliveries, ensuring accurate billing and proper product handling and rotation.
• Control department expenses, labor costs, and reduce losses due to spoilage and shrinkage.
• Maintain department cleanliness and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Utilize company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for safety.

Qualifications and Experience of Bakery Manager:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in a business-related or food service-related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in management within a retail/restaurant/supermarket environment.
• Previous decorating experience preferred.
