Role and Responsibilities:
As a Store Associate, you play a vital role in creating a positive shopping environment for customers by providing courteous, prompt, and knowledgeable service. You will support store operations by maintaining clean and organized departments, stocking products, and assisting customers throughout various store areas including Grocery, Dairy, Frozen, and Front End.
- Greet, assist, and thank customers with a friendly smile and positive attitude.
- Provide product suggestions and respond to customer inquiries to enhance their shopping experience.
- Actively promote store initiatives and promotions to drive customer engagement and sales.
- Stock, rotate, and display department products ensuring freshness and proper date control.
- Use supplies efficiently to reduce waste and maintain low costs.
- Operate department equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas; report equipment malfunctions or hazards to management.
- Collaborate with team members and management to achieve daily operational goals.
- Assist with inventory control by monitoring stock levels and reporting discrepancies.
- Participate in cashier, bagger, or customer service duties as needed.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Report suspicious activity, including theft, shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, or property damage.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, lifting, equipment use, and hazard reporting protocols.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Strong customer service skills and passion for helping others.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to handle stressful situations professionally.
- Basic computer skills to complete online training and use store technology.
- Commitment to company policies, safety standards, and ethical behavior.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
