Job Summary:
We are seeking a department lead to oversee dry goods, disposables, culinary equipment, and fresh product areas. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, effective merchandise presentation, and high-quality customer service. The position also includes Manager on Duty responsibilities when store management is unavailable, including opening and closing the store.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain proper inventory levels based on store capacity, customer needs, promotions, and seasonal demands.
- Ensure appealing and profitable merchandise presentation and pricing.
- Drive departmental sales through excellent customer service, freshness, and in-stock availability.
- Perform daily orders and date checks to maintain product standards.
- Train, coach, and support staff to achieve performance goals.
- Open and close the store and perform Manager on Duty responsibilities as required.
- Stock shelves, set up displays, ring sales, and perform cleaning tasks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and promptly address any safety concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three or more years of experience in retail, restaurant, or customer service.
- Supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency with computers, email, and internet software.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build professional relationships and demonstrate adaptability in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout shifts.
- Comfortable lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling 20–100 lbs. frequently; occasionally over 100 lbs.
- Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, and twisting as part of daily tasks.
- Work performed in varying temperatures ranging from -10°F to 85°F.
