Role and Responsibilities:
As a Liquor Store Manager, you will lead, manage, and develop overall liquor store operations and associates to maximize sales, ensure compliance, and support customer loyalty. You will oversee financial performance, implement merchandising strategies, and foster a culture of customer service excellence.
- Lead and empower teams to deliver exceptional customer service aligned with company goals and policies.
- Ensure associates greet, assist, provide efficient service, and thank customers in a professional manner.
- Maintain professional relationships with customers, associates, vendors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
- Oversee financial budgets, inventory, shrink, expenses, and cash control with integrity and urgency.
- Maximize sales and profitability through effective display techniques, ordering, scheduling, and associate work planning.
- Review profit and loss (P&L) statements to identify business opportunities and implement improvement plans.
- Recruit, interview, and hire qualified applicants while ensuring adherence to compensation guidelines.
- Provide orientation, training, evaluations, feedback, and recognition to associates.
- Partner with HR and legal to ensure compliance with all state and federal employment laws and company policies.
- Address performance issues or recommend separation when necessary.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- 3–6 years of supervisory experience.
- Proven experience in a Southeastern Grocers lead position; or 1+ year management or supervisory experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or general business.
- Possession of Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of placement.
- High standard of integrity and reliability.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to address issues and minimize business impact.
- Proficiency with computer applications required for departmental operations.
- Knowledge of liquor, wines, and beers.
- Alcohol Compliance Training.
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
