Job Summary of Store Associate:

The Store Associate is accountable to the store manager and also has a reporting relationship with the assistant store managers and shift leaders.Their main responsibilities include tasks like operating the cash register, restocking shelves, maintaining cleanliness, and overseeing perishable items.A key aspect of the Store Associate role is delivering top-notch customer service and contributing to the upkeep of the store on a daily basis.They are expected to carry out their job responsibilities following the guidelines and protocols set by the company.

Responsibilities of Store Associate:

• Works proficiently at a cash register and executes checkout processes with a high level of effectiveness, meeting or exceeding set performance benchmarks. This includes achieving the specified time for each transaction per item and ensuring precise handling and counting of various payment methods like cash, EBT, debit, credit cards, WIC vouchers, gift cards, coupons, and checks.
• Adheres to all protocols and guidelines for processing check-outs and handling cash transactions.
• Consistently achieving or surpassing established expectations for managing, replenishing, and caring for grocery items, frozen foods, dairy products, smoked meats, and perishable goods.
• Provides support in the process of unloading shipments from delivery vehicles.
• Places stocks on various platforms, shelves, peg hooks, or in baskets, and refrigerated cases as required.
• Operates both powered and non-powered equipment and hand tools for relocating inventory once adequately instructed.
• Collects shopping carts from the parking area.
• Ensures the store environment is kept in exceptional conditions.
• Ensures a workplace that is both secure and orderly.
• Carries out specified cleaning tasks, such as maintaining the cleanliness of floors, windows, shelves, display cases, register area, backroom, restrooms, parking lot, and other relevant areas.
• Offers exceptional customer support, which encompasses aspects like friendly and courteous communication.
• Supports store leadership by helping to educate and develop additional store staff members.
• Ensures that both perishable and non-perishable items are rotated correctly according to their expiration dates.
• Verifies that products are accompanied by appropriate price markers and are exhibited according to the regulations set by the company.
• Safeguards corporate assets, finances, and goods.
• Arranges, cuts, wraps, and packs approved fruits and vegetables appropriately.
• Provides support to new staff members when required.
• Undertakes additional responsibilities, such as assisting in different sections of the shop, based on the given tasks.

Qualification of Store Associate:

• Individuals must be of legal age, which is 18 years or above.
• Preference is given to individuals with a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Demonstrated successful background in retail sales; preference for experience in dry grocery, fresh food, meat, general merchandise, handling cash, and top-notch customer support.
• Exceptional collaboration and ability to solve problems effectively.
• Proficiency in English reading, writing, and verbal communication is required.
• Showcase proficient verbal and written communication abilities, along with strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in fundamental mathematical operations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing is necessary, along with basic computer competencies.
• It is essential to be reliable and adaptable in order to fulfill assigned shifts and be open to assisting in various store sections at short notice.
• Safety regulations must be followed at all times.
• It is essential to comply with a consistent dress policy.

Physical Requirements of Store Associate:

• Needs to have the capacity to perform tasks that involve reaching, bending, balancing, and moving a range of objects weighing between 20 to 50 pounds frequently during the work period. Occasionally, items may weigh between 50 to 80 pounds.
• Must be capable of remaining on one's feet, walking, or moving around for prolonged durations.
• The job demands the capacity to exert force, tug, hold, rotate, and engage in cutting movements for prolonged durations.
• Consistently operates in cold storage units, refrigerated areas, and delivery trucks both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
