Deli Prep Associate

Job Summary of Deli Prep Associate:

As a Deli Prep Associate, you will perform duties at the prepared foods and deli service counter to ensure department appearance, quality, variety, and food safety are maintained. You will build customer relations and provide enthusiastic service in support of company strategy.

Responsibilities of Deli Prep Associate:

• Extend a warm welcome and help customers with locating and selecting merchandise.
• Offer superb and approachable customer assistance and apply expertise and skills to propose resolutions that satisfy or surpass customer expectations.
• Cut, portion, make ready, weigh, and box products according to established measures and quality goals.
• Managing the preparation of multiple orders simultaneously with a commitment to excellent customer service and quality maintenance.
• Providing help and support at a service support counter
• Ensure products meet the utmost quality standards to align with our department's strategic focus.
• Exceed the productivity expectations laid out in the Management Planning blueprint.
• Increase proficiency in product knowledge across various departmental sectors.
• Comply with company protocols while executing assigned cleaning responsibilities.
• Support in training colleagues and executing other functions as designated

Qualifications of Deli Prep Associate:

• Deli, restaurant or food service experience helpful but not required.
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to multi task and prioritize in a fast paced environment.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Pre-requisite to this job would be Deli Service Case Associate training.

Physical Requirements of Deli Prep Associate:

• Frequently lift objects up to 15 lbs. in weight and occasionally handle loads up to 40 lbs.
• Reach to shoulder lifting 20 lbs. frequently and overhead occasionally.
• Regularly performing tasks that require pushing or pulling loads within the 3 to 15-pound range, and occasionally lifting objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Engage in repetitive hand and arm movements involving gripping activities while being in a standing or walking position throughout the majority of the shift.
• Satisfy the volume activity targets set by the department.
• Frequent bending, reaching, grasping, and lifting produce items at or above waist level.
• Interface with controls using hands, detect objects through touch, and apply equipment to open containers or to prepare and sanitize agricultural products.
• Possess the capability to handle different types of substances commonly related to cleaning products, packaging supplies, and edible goods.
• Display the capacity to work in both hot and cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a stretch
