Role and Responsibilities:
As a Liquor Department Associate, you will help build customer loyalty and trust by delivering courteous service, maintaining smooth store operations, and supporting a professional and approachable environment. You will ensure compliance with regulations, provide excellent customer service, and contribute to operational efficiency. Core responsibilities include:
- Compliance (50%): Monitor customers, verify age identification, refuse alcohol or tobacco sales to underage or intoxicated individuals, and prevent open containers from leaving the store.
- Customer Excellence (25%): Greet and assist customers politely, suggest products when appropriate, and respond promptly to customer needs.
- Operational Excellence (25%): Stock and rotate products to maintain freshness, replenish supplies efficiently, operate equipment and cashier systems accurately, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and report hazards or faulty equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 0–3 years of relevant retail experience.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Completion of TIPS Training prior to start date.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- High integrity and reliability.
- Basic computer skills for online training.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Supervisory experience in a retail setting.
- Additional certifications and training, such as Cicerone Certification, Alcohol Compliance Training, Beer Science & Styles, Wine & Spirits Training, Cigar/Humidor Training, and related modules including cashier, service desk, grocery stocking, pricing, and MOD training.
