Role and Responsibilities of Food Service Associate:

As a Food Service Associate, you will provide fast, flexible, and friendly service to customers while supporting department managers in maintaining operational and merchandising standards. Your role ensures a positive shopping experience and adherence to food safety guidelines.

• Deliver exceptional customer service at the front by handling tasks such as scanning products, packing bags, and ensuring the checkout areas are clean.
• Ensure Food Lion To Go customers receive quick and accurate service.
• Monitor and uphold product quantities, sanitation requirements, and correct food handling methodologies in the Produce, Deli/Bakery/HMS, Perishable, and Grocery sectors.
• Utilize machinery safely, such as pallet jacks, slicers, and cash registers, for day-to-day operations.
• Stock shelves according to company standards, lifting up to 70 lbs and pushing/pulling pallets weighing up to 2,000 lbs.
• Reallocate vacant bottles and containers from the front end to the back storage room if needed.
• Ensure adherence to safety measures, food safety guidelines, and store procedures without fail.
• Help with completing various assignments as directed by supervisors to ensure operational flow.

Required Skills and Experience of Food Service Associate:

• Improving communication skills and customer service expertise.
• Ability and motivation to pick up multiple tasks and technical competencies.
• Adhere to the age criteria for specific job roles.
• Proficiency in meeting physical standards, which include the ability to lift items of up to 50 pounds, stand for entire shifts, and manage various cleaning and packaging materials.
• The use of computers and other communication technologies is a key component in the execution of job responsibilities.
• Preserve a meticulous approach when carrying out repetitive hand and arm motions.
