Job Summary of Evening Team Manager:
To successfully lead and manage all store functions in lieu of the store manager.
Responsibilities of Evening Team Manager:
- Aiming for consistent courtesy from store personnel towards customers and ensuring that all customer grievances or requests are managed with professionalism.
- In charge of delegating duties in a way that maximizes productivity and ensuring proper procedures for ongoing oversight.
- To implement a cleaning schedule that maintains a well-kept and visually pleasing store for customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that the building and tools are well-maintained to meet safety operational requirements.
- Responsible for preserving product freshness and employing merchandising tactics to maximize revenue and achieve sales goals.
- To carry out and preserve operative fire and safety plans imposed by Risk Management.
- Execute and sustain robust security standards within and around the store, as directed by the Loss Prevention Department, to safeguard the premises effectively.
- Offering greetings to all clients and expressing thanks for choosing our services.
- Monitoring the refrigeration equipment in the store throughout the night.
- Overseeing the store's various functions during the evening when the store manager is not around.
- To follow all company policies as detailed in the Employee Handbook.
- Aid in the cash office when necessary, such as taking over during breaks and verifying bank deposits.
- To offer assistance as needed across different store sections.
- Inform the store manager or department managers about any evening problems that may arise.
- Support is needed in the grocery department for activities like constructing displays, arranging merchandise, displaying signage, retrieving carts, and stocking inventory.
Qualifications of Evening Team Manager:
- Minimum requirement of a high school education. A college education is helpful but not required.
- At least 1 year of management experience in a retail environment is required.
- Must possess the ability to make critical decisions and to provide effective leadership.
- Must possess excellent communication skills in order to deal with customers and other employees.
- Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.) approximately thirty percent (30%) of the time.
- Must have the ability to retrieve and place merchandise on the top racks in the grocery aisles for proper storage. The top racking process may be 20% of the time working in the aisles during the shift.
- Must have the ability to operate a pallet jack, step carts, and the Big Joe.
