Job Summary of Grocery Stocking Team Member:

The Grocery Stocking Team Member is responsible for assisting the Grocery/Bulk and Dairy/Frozen Managers in the successful operation and profitability of the Grocery/Bulk and Dairy/Frozen departments.The Grocery Stocking Team Member is responsible for maintaining, organizing, and restocking the bulk foods section to ensure an attractive, clean, and well-supplied shopping area.

Responsibilities of Grocery Stocking Team Member:

• Focusing on delivering top-tier customer service as the foremost goal.

• Structuring interactive and extensively merchandised store zones with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Aiding department heads in managing orders for groceries, bulk items, dairy products, and frozen goods and ensuring inventory levels are precise.
• Assisting department managers in the management of margin, COGs, and overall department profitability, focusing on shrink reduction and maximizing the impact of purchasing processes.
• Verifying that all in-stock items/conditions meet the required company standards.
• Extending and overseeing specific orders.
• Retail shelves, endcaps, and visually appealing presentations.
• Aid in the coordination and involvement in labeling, presenting, shifting, maintaining cleanliness, reducing prices, restocking, and managing extra inventory.
• Providing support in coaching and overseeing department employees by allocating and monitoring assignments.
• Engaging in interactive and observational demonstrations.
• Cooperating with the heads of departments to resolve performance challenges within their respective areas.
• Providing assistance with the initiation and termination of store functions, which entails duties such as maintaining the Daily Sales Report (DSR) and overseeing cash handling, as well as carrying out responsibilities linked to finalizing cashier activities.
• Execution of register tasks, including serving as a backup cashier, processing customer refunds, managing complaints from patrons, and taking on register shift changes, including providing coverage during scheduled breaks.
• Guaranteeing the protection and security of clients and employees.
• Adhering to company guidelines when responding to customer queries, incorporating statements that promote health and nutrition in a manner consistent with established standards.
• Perpetually escalating familiarity with product details.
• Making use of SAP for inventory management, while also utilizing email and other information systems software as necessary.
• Working a schedule based on store needs which includes evenings, weekends, holidays. Position requires working five days, 40 hours per week and attending mandatory store meetings.
• This role involves a few manager on duty responsibilities but is not expected to be the primary manager on duty for the store.

Qualifications of Grocery Stocking Team Member:

• Preference may be given to individuals with a high school diploma, GED, or a similar educational background.
• Applicants who have worked in a grocery or retail environment for at least one year are favored, and experience in natural foods is seen as a positive attribute.
• A history of supervision for at least one year is advantageous.
• Complying with legal obligations by successfully completing food safety training courses and certifications as needed and staying current with certification records where required.
• Skill in navigating evolving priorities and remaining devoted to the present assignment.
• Maintain a feeling of importance and timeliness when finishing assignments.
• Show proficiency in handling customer interactions effectively.
• Meticulously arranged with a careful eye for specifics.
• Capability to follow direction and fulfill responsibilities.
• The candidate should have experience in handling cash transactions and the ability to accurately count money.
• Competent in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Physical requirements of Grocery Stocking Team Member:

• Essential requirements include the capability to continuously lift or transport loads up to 10 lbs., frequently manage items weighing 11-20 lbs., and occasionally handle objects weighing 21-50 lbs. Collaborative efforts for lifting objects weighing 51-100 lbs. are also necessary.
• Must possess the capacity to frequently push or tug items weighing up to 15 lbs. and occasionally dealing with objects ranging from 16 to 100 lbs.
• The ability to occasionally engage with the computer for data input and mouse navigation is required.
• The job requires continuous walking, standing, and manual dexterity throughout the entire shift.
• Required to frequently raise hands above chest height.
