Job Summary:

H-E-B is looking for enthusiastic and motivated Checkers who enjoy engaging with customers and delivering outstanding service. As the friendly face at the checkout, you will ensure a smooth and welcoming shopping experience while accurately processing transactions. Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service, going beyond expectations to enhance their experience.
• Accurately scan and process purchases using electronic scanners, handle cash, checks, and card payments.
• Bag groceries with care, answer product-related questions, and suggest additional items or services.
• Manage front-end shrink by monitoring transactions and following loss prevention protocols.
• Redeem coupons, food stamps, and apply promotions correctly.
• Assist in customer service duties as needed, maintaining a positive and helpful attitude.
• Maintain cleanliness and order at the checkout area to create an inviting environment.
• Complete all required training including Checker and Alcohol Seller's training.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Prior experience in a fast-paced retail or customer service environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in scanning and cash handling.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependability and ability to focus on customers while multitasking.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and manage loads up to 35 lbs.
• Willingness to complete required company training programs.
