Role and Responsibilities of Perishable Clerk:

In the role of a Perishable Clerk, your primary focus will be on meeting quality benchmarks, offering exceptional customer care, and aiding in the increase of sales volume while decreasing losses. Your tasks will involve establishing a positive shopping ambiance, following corporate guidelines, and ensuring conformity with food safety protocols.

• Foster a vibe of enthusiastic customer engagement, prioritizing efficient, welcoming, and precise support.
• Provide polite and supportive help to team members.
• Leverage company-provided resources such as the Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS) and ordering technology like Computer-Assisted Ordering (CAO).
• Take delivery of goods, apply relevant codes as needed, alternate stock items, and store them correctly.
• Ensure that the protocol for the ordering, receiving, preparing, conditioning, and presenting of goods complies with the company's policies.
• Keep a consistent supply of items in the meat, cold cuts, frozen foods, milk, and frozen dessert categories.
• Carry out the required steps outlined in the planned production tool for processing and grinding beef.
• Package, mark, measure, and organize meat as required.
• It is important to assemble, dismantle, and sanitize grinders as necessary.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation within the department, while also adhering to layout and assortment guidelines.
• Ensure that advertising and promotional materials meet compliance standards.
• Comply with all directives, rules, and established protocols of Food Lion.
• Abide by the established guidelines concerning the safety of both food and workplace environments.
• Recognize, fix, and notify the Manager about any unsafe conditions.
• Make sure to comply with regulations set forth by local, state, and federal authorities.
• Adhere to the dress code by wearing the Food Lion uniform along with an apron and an identification badge, presenting a clean and professional image.
• Ensure completion of mandatory training, which includes Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Packets.
• Fulfill any other responsibilities as instructed.

Required Skills and Experience of Perishable Clerk:

• It is preferred that applicants have graduated from high school or have an equivalent qualification.
• Proficient in interpersonal relations, organization, communication, and customer support.
• Readiness and capability to understand and master a range of tasks and technical job specifications.
• Using specialized information to troubleshoot issues.
• It is a prerequisite to satisfy the specified age limits to carry out the responsibilities associated with the job.
• Meeting the physical criteria of the role, with the option for reasonable accommodations if needed.

Physical Requirements of Perishable Clerk:

• Employ computers and other communication systems as needed.
• Engage in repetitive hand and arm gestures.
• Be prepared to bend and hoist loads of up to 15 lbs. consistently, 25 lbs. regularly, and occasionally manage objects weighing 50 lbs.
• Push or pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Maintain an upright position consistently and engage in frequent periods of walking.
• Administer substances utilized for cleaning and packaging items.
• The act of frequently reaching and seizing items usually occurs at the waist level, with the possibility of extending above or below on occasion.
• Meet the set benchmarks for daily tasks.
• Endure working conditions in exceptionally hot or cold climates for intervals of up to 20 minutes.
