• As a Grocery Meat Clerk, your responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, following safe food handling procedures, and possessing a strong understanding of product knowledge and preparation techniques.
• Engaged in an active role, the Grocery Meat Clerk conducts duties such as receiving, storing, and grinding meats, as well as unloading and transporting various types of meats and poultry from delivery trucks. In addition, they are responsible for counting and weighing incoming items, ensuring the quantities match those stated on an invoice. Furthermore, the clerk inspects the meats in storage and organizes rotations to prevent aging and maintain quality.
• The responsibilities of a Grocery Meat Clerk include delivering outstanding and amiable customer service, supporting customers with inquiries, custom orders, and special needs, while upholding a positive working environment prioritizing customer satisfaction.
• The Grocery Meat Clerk is knowledgeable about the weekly promotional offers, offers assistance to shoppers in finding items within the store, and follows the Clean as You Go and Fresh at 4 protocols.

Qualifications of Grocery Meat Clerk:

• In order to be eligible, candidates must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or an equivalent credential, and have a basic knowledge of math, weights, and measurements.
• Exhibit dependability and reliability in executing designated tasks, and be willing to undertake supplementary roles as requested.
• Exhibit an affable and sociable manner;radiate positivity and demonstrate proficiency in engaging with our clients.
• Show proficiency in adjusting to a flexible work schedule that aligns with the evolving demands of the business, potentially involving work on nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Having good communication skills and being able to follow instructions while being part of a team are valuable assets
• Undertake general cleanliness duties in the department; disinfect and tidy the workspace (encompassing tables, flooring, walls, display units, refrigerators, freezers, etc.).
• Follow safety protocols, health directives, guidelines for measuring accurately, and adhere to company-approved recipes
• The position mandates the capability to stand for a maximum of 4 hours consecutively and for a total of 8 hours per shift, including walking up to 2 miles within an 8-hour timeframe.
• Tasked with operating effectively in a temperature-regulated environment and completing standard cleaning responsibilities within the area; sanitize and maintain cleanliness in the work zone, comprising tables, floors, walls, coolers, and freezers.
• The use of sharp knives, band saws, grinders, sausage making devices, box cutters, wrapping machines, and meat tenderizers requires adequate vision.
• Skilled in moving items weighing between 25 to 90 lbs horizontally or vertically, across distances of 4 to 60 feet, throughout a 20-hour timeframe.
• Maneuver pallets laterally using a pallet jack, with a weight limit of 500 lbs., necessitating a force of up to 85 lbs., a distance of up to 100 feet, and a time duration of 5 hours.
• Maneuver shelves of goods horizontally, dealing with weights of up to 70 lbs., requiring a force of up to 25 lbs., and covering distances of up to 50 feet for a duration of 10 hours.
• Able to lift and relocate tables that weigh up to 70 lbs, exerting a force of more than 35 lbs, and moving them a maximum distance of 2 feet for up to 1 hour.
