Role and Responsibilities:

The Checkout Clerk is essential in building customer trust and loyalty by providing fast, accurate, and courteous service at checkout. This role is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy in the service lane and delivering a smooth transaction process. Key responsibilities include:

• Customer Service: Greet, assist, and thank customers promptly and politely; resolve or escalate concerns to management; and share information about promotions and specials as requested.
• Cash Register Operation: Accurately process transactions using the scanning system; operate cashiering equipment; handle all forms of payment; provide correct change; and assist with training new cashiers as needed.
• Product Stocking and Maintenance: Stock and organize front-end products; return discarded or unwanted items to the proper department; collect and organize carts; and maintain a clean, safe, and organized checkout area.
• Loss Prevention & Compliance: Report theft, shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, or policy violations to management; follow all safety, service, and security standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Must meet legal and company minimum age requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain authorization.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening.
