Job Summary of Shelf Stocker:

In the role of a Shelf Stocker at Hy-Vee, you will be tasked with assessing the quality and display of products to maintain their freshness, making sure there is an ample supply of products available as per a production plan, and forecasting the daily product requirements of the department. Your responsibilities extend to receiving deliveries, organizing items, and cross-referencing invoices for accuracy

Responsibilities of Shelf Stocker:

• Ensures customers receive top-notch service by embodying kindness, empathy, and a gracious attitude in all customer interactions, emphasizing their significance in the store.
• Initiates interactions with customers in a friendly manner, showing a willingness to learn and utilize their names when engaging with them.
• Supporting clients includes showing them to the products they are searching for, acquiring items that are located in inaccessible areas, and assisting with the lifting or carrying of cumbersome items. Noting down and relaying any feedback or requests made by customers is an essential aspect of the position. Executing various tasks to elevate the overall shopping experience is also a crucial part of customer service
• Demonstrates promptness in answering phone calls and extends a friendly and accommodating service to customers reaching out for support. Collaborates with peers to foster customer happiness and a convivial work ambience.
• Tasked with unloading trucks, opening containers, shelving items, arranging overstock, and rotating products.
• Monitors for miss-picked items, reviews product outs, wrong deliveries, etc. Organizes stock for greatest efficiency, cleans and restocks damaged items. Tags the shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers. Reports all new or different items for the scanning coordinator for input into the system.
• Maintains a high level of compliance with department and company standards concerning personal cleanliness and attire. Follows company regulations and specific store rules without deviation.
• Demonstrates reliability by showing up for work as planned, on schedule, and working the expected hours.

Qualification of Shelf Stocker:

• Must demonstrate the capacity to tackle hands-on challenges, manage a range of factors with some degree of consistency, and comprehend and follow instructions effectively.
• Skills in handling calculations related to fractions, decimals, and percentages are a must.
• The competency to grasp and execute verbal or demonstrated directives, document specific information, and solicit necessary items verbally or in written form is a fundamental requirement.
• High school or equivalent experience. Six months or less of similar or related work experience.

Physical Requirements of Shelf Stocker:

• Must be able to physically perform very heavy work, exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
• Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions of Shelf Stocker:

• In this role, individuals can expect to encounter dirt, noise, hazards related to the movement of equipment, and exposure to chemicals and solvents on a daily basis.
• He is occasionally subjected to temperature fluctuations and the risk of encountering electrical hazards as well.
