Grocery Product Stocker

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Grocery Product Stocker at Giant Food, you will maintain fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing shelves to ensure a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience. You will work across departments including produce, dairy, frozen, and general grocery, supporting efficient store operations and assisting customers as needed.

• Stock shelves, displays, and endcaps to ensure products are readily available.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to maintain freshness and quality.
• Verify accurate pricing and proper labeling of all items.
• Create and maintain promotional displays and signage as directed by management.
• Assist customers in locating products and provide helpful guidance.
• Deliver friendly and knowledgeable customer service to enhance satisfaction.
• Address minor customer issues or escalate concerns to supervisors when necessary.
• Keep work areas clean and organized, including shelves, floors, and spill zones.
• Maintain backroom and storage areas in an orderly manner.
• Notify management promptly of low-stock or out-of-stock items.
• Participate in inventory counts and regular audits.
• Check expiration dates and remove expired or damaged items.
• Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
• Provide support to other departments as assigned by store leadership.
• Contribute to overall store operations while promoting a cooperative team environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum age of 16 years (18 for certain departments).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in retail or grocery is a plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in refrigerated areas such as dairy or frozen sections.
• Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Basic math and reading comprehension abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in grocery, retail, or other customer-facing roles.
• Knowledge of inventory management or merchandising processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
