Receiver

Job Summary:

As a Receiver at ShopRite, you will be responsible for accurately receiving and verifying incoming deliveries, ensuring merchandise is properly checked in, documented, and stored. You will maintain a clean and organized receiving area, handle return-to-stock and damaged items according to company policy, and communicate effectively with department teams. You will also assist with invoice accuracy, support inventory processes, and provide courteous service when interacting with vendors and team members.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and unload incoming deliveries in a safe, efficient, and organized manner.
• Verify all invoices for accuracy, including cost, retail, and quantity.
• Ensure product is accurately matched to purchase orders and documentation.
• Handle damaged or return-to-stock products in accordance with Company policy.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and organized receiving area at all times.
• Monitor storage areas for cleanliness, organization, and compliance with food safety standards.
• Follow all procedures for proper code dating, rotation, and storage of merchandise.
• Assist in tracking inventory discrepancies and reporting variances to appropriate personnel.
• Utilize power or hand jacks, carts, and other equipment as required for receiving and transporting goods.
• Communicate effectively with department managers to ensure proper handling and distribution of received items.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating equipment or handling merchandise.
• Complete all applicable training programs and maintain knowledge of company receiving procedures.
• Perform duties in accordance with ShopRite Service Priorities (Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency).
• Work cooperatively with others and support store operations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-lo's, power jacks, and other equipment.
• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperature environments, including refrigerated storage areas.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried, and/or processed products, spices, and powdered substances without negative effects.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Ability to interact with Customers and vendors in a professional and helpful manner.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and follow all assigned work schedules.
