Responsibilities of Produce Worker:

• At Sprouts Farmers Market, the position of a Produce Worker involves embodying our brand essence consistently. Our produce is sourced fresh from farms and requires precise handling, preparation, and merchandising to deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction in our retail environment.
• The position of a Produce Worker at Sprouts Farmers Market necessitates a deep understanding of the products and their preparation methods. Daily tasks include replenishing the Produce section, presenting products appealingly, organizing items based on the Produce Department layout, and verifying the correctness of tags and pricing.
• As a Produce Worker at Sprouts, you play a crucial role in stocking and rotating merchandise within the Produce Department, while also overseeing tasks like trimming, watering, and merchandising products to uphold the quality and freshness of offerings.
• The main task of a Produce Worker is to effectively manage inventory to optimize product quality and availability, while also offering friendly and informative assistance to customers. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you!
• Individuals under the age of 18 will face constraints on certain tasks as team members:
• When using a knife instead of a safety cutter, it is essential to be extra vigilant and adopt safe practices to minimize the risk of injury
• Using a ladder
• A machine specifically designed to compress garbage and cardboard is being utilized
• Using any equipment that is powered by motors or electronic mechanisms (such as manual pallet movers)
• Spending extended time in cold storage areas or freezers

Qualifications of Produce Worker:

• Be at least 16 years of age
• Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes, including night, weekends, and holidays
• Have and show a mutual respect for others, maintain a high-level code of ethics within Sprouts culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers
• Have good communication skills; and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
• Be able to perform repetitious activities, and can multi-task, prioritize and stay organized
• Requires standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4 to 72, for a distance up 3 feet for between 10-50 hours without mechanical assistance. Able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs. requiring a force up to 35 lbs., up to 2 hours, a distance up to 20 feet.
• Be able to walk up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift
• Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA and Weights and Measures regulations
• Be able to perform other related duties as assigned.
