Role and Responsibilities of Bakery Clerk:

As a member of the sales team, your role involves delivering high-quality customer assistance in the Deli Bakery Department. Your responsibilities include upholding standards of product quality, cleanliness, and display presentation, all while fostering a friendly and customer-centric atmosphere.

• Uphold a setting of energetic customer attentiveness through prompt, amiable, and precise assistance.
• Show respect and kindness towards your colleagues.
• Adhere to the instructions in technical guides when handling product processing, labeling, and positioning.
• Supervise the process of ordering, receiving, preparing, arranging, and showcasing goods while adhering to specified policies and standards.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the department, equipment, and areas where food is handled and prepared.
• Utilize corporate resources such as ACIS (Average Cost Inventory System) and the CAO ordering platform.
• Comprehend and follow the regulations, protocols, and customary procedures set by the organization.
• Adhere to food safety and workplace safety protocols when recognizing and rectifying hazardous situations.
• Notify the Manager on Duty of any incidents involving associates or customers according to Food Lion protocols.
• Adhere to all laws at the local, state, and national levels to guarantee regulatory conformity.
• Adhere to the Food Lion dress code by wearing the designated uniform and name badge in a tidy and business-appropriate manner.
• Effectively finish Computer Based Training (CBT), instructional materials, and instructional aid classes.
• Fulfill additional tasks as required.

Required Skills and Experience of Bakery Clerk:

• Completion of high school or equivalent is desirable.
• Strong abilities in interacting with others, coordinating tasks, conveying messages effectively, and assisting customers.
• Capacity and eagerness to acquire various responsibilities and specialized technical skills related to the job.
• Proficiency in applying technical knowledge to address challenges effectively.
• Meeting the specified age criteria is essential for carrying out the duties required for the job.

Physical Requirements of Bakery Clerk:

• Proficiency in utilizing computer and communication technology is essential for performing job duties efficiently.
• Engage in recurring hand and arm movements.
• Continuously bend and raise items weighing up to 15 lbs, frequently handle loads of 25 lbs, and occasionally lift items up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally lift weights of up to 75 lbs using either a pushing or pulling motion.
• Be on your feet for extended periods while engaging in regular brief walks during your shift.
• Deal with substances associated with cleaning and packaging supplies.
• Regularly extend and grip objects at hip height, with intermittent reaching both higher and lower.
• Achieve the specified levels of productivity that have been set.
• Endure exposure to intense heat or cold conditions for periods lasting no longer than 20 minutes.
