Responsibilities of Grocery Bakery Manager:

• At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Grocery Bakery Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the Bakery Department.
• Manage the daily output baking, production, and display of bakery products
• Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget
• Evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement; develop improved practices and procedures
• Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
• Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage
• Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays
• Responsible for managing department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards
• Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit

• Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions, and make recommendations on merit increases via completing the bi-annual performance review process.
• Regularly attend and participate in-store meetings.
• Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Confidently exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns.
• Take and document corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance to include coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination when needed.
• Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels.
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
• Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive.
• Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.

Qualifications of Grocery Bakery Manager:

• To be a Grocery Bakery Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market qualified candidates must:
• Individuals should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in retail grocery and be of legal age, at least 18 years old
• Demonstrate reliability and flexibility in your availability, which may require working non-traditional shifts like nights, weekends, and public holidays
• Demonstrate friendly and approachable conduct while maintaining a positive outlook towards teammates and customers.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills and be proficient in exchanging feedback and directions while working within a team dynamic
• Possess the skill to handle phone inquiries and cater to specific orders
• Undertake regular housekeeping tasks within the department to ensure a clean and hygienic work area, involving the cleansing and disinfection of various surfaces such as tables, floors, walls, shelves, and chilling equipment
• Exhibit adeptness in the operation of knives, scales, wrapping equipment, compaction units, disposal systems, pallet movers, and hand trolleys as necessary. Utilize expertise in scale functionality and weight quantification for precise product measurement and labeling
• Ability to stand continuously for a duration of up to 3 hours at a stretch, totaling 8 hours per shift. In this role, there is a requirement to lift trays vertically weighing up to 5 lbs., ranging from 7 to 64, for up to 10 hours, as well as moving items both vertically and horizontally, weighing up to 40 lbs., spanning from 5 to 36, and covering distances up to 36 feet for a maximum of 10 hours without reliance on machinery
• Abide by the safety, health, and Weights and Measures mandates, and obtain and retain a Food Handlers license
• Be familiar with personnel documents, profit margins, weekly sales figures, and financial objectives
