Job Summary of Store Shift Lead:

In the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Managers during designated shifts, the Store Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of store team members.This encompasses duties such as managing store procedures by ensuring the timely opening and closing of the store, protecting store assets and finances, and supervising employee performance throughout the assigned shifts.Additionally, the Store Shift Lead supports the store management team in maintaining store conditions, quality standards, safety protocols, security measures, and sanitation guidelines. Providing exemplary customer service is a fundamental aspect of the Store Shift Lead role, with all job tasks to be executed in compliance with company policies and procedures.Whenever a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager is available, the Shift Lead performs the duties outlined in their primary job description.

Responsibilities of Store Shift Lead:

• Responsible for initiating and wrapping up store functions following specified procedures
• Guides and observes the daily actions of the full-time and part-time employees working in different sections of the store.
• Communicates with patrons in a genial and polite tone
• Addresses customer concerns effectively by processing exchanges and reimbursements
• Registers dissatisfaction and proceeds with corrective actions to resolve the matter
• Manages front end operational tasks, including tallying cash, setting up tills, handling cash transactions, verifying register funds, and managing gift card sales and returns
• Compiles and presents electronic store reports for review by the Store Manager
• Completes cashier duties and restocks items when needed
• Elevates employee issues such as disciplinary actions, cash discrepancies, attendance discrepancies, performance problems, and major customer complaints to the Store Manager or District Manager for resolution
• Vendors receive timely assistance, which involves managing the receipt of deliveries and shipments
• Inventory control throughout different sections comprises duties like restocking and organizing produce, overseeing meat provisions, verifying expiration dates regularly, and refilling milk and egg supplies as required
• Ensures that the store is meeting the required health and safety criteria established by the company
• Responds to crises by executing evacuation processes accurately
• Guards the property, funds, and products owned by the company
• Verifies the daily compliance with loss prevention procedures
• Accountable for upholding sanitation standards in the store, engaging in cleaning activities throughout the shift
• Function as the primary liaison for media and regulatory visitors, redirecting communication to the Store Manager
• Has the opportunity to engage in panel interviews but lacks the decision-making authority in hiring
• Executes various assignments as designated, including supporting in alternative areas within the business

Qualification of Store Shift Lead:

• To participate, one must have reached the age of 18 or older
• It is necessary to have a High School diploma or its comparable alternative
• In-depth knowledge of products and the capacity to mentor other team members
• Having previous experience in a training or supervisory role is beneficial
• A candidate's work history holds significant weight during the selection process, with a focus on attendance, job effectiveness, adherence to safety regulations, compliance with company policies, and performance evaluations
• Basic math skills proficiency is a must, involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Being fluent in English encompasses the skills of reading, writing, and speaking the language
• Exhibit strong skills in oral and written expression, along with effective interpersonal communication
• Being skilled in Spanish or other languages can be advantageous

Physical Requirements of Store Shift Lead:

• Candidates should demonstrate the capacity to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing 20-50 lbs on a regular basis
• The capability to stand, walk, and move continuously for long periods is essential
• Should possess the skill to push, tug, hold, rotate, and execute cutting gestures for an extended period
• Regularly carries out tasks in freezing units, refrigerated spaces, cold storage rooms, both internally and externally at the store, irrespective of weather conditions, and while working with delivery vehicles
