Role and Responsibilities:

The Retail Grocery Courtesy Clerk contributes to a positive shopping experience by delivering fast, accurate, and courteous checkout service. This role focuses on the careful handling of groceries, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining a clean, organized front-end environment. Key responsibilities include:

• Greet, assist, and thank customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Help customers unload purchases at checkout and bag items properly to prevent damage.
• Assist customers with loading groceries into their vehicles when requested.
• Retrieve and organize shopping carts from the parking lot and store perimeter.
• Verify product pricing with other departments as needed.
• Replenish and use front-end supplies efficiently to minimize waste.
• Return misplaced or unwanted merchandise to the correct department.
• Keep checkout lanes, cart areas, and workstations clean, safe, and orderly.
• Report equipment issues, hazards, or suspicious activity to management.
• Support store loss prevention by reporting theft or policy violations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by store leadership.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Must meet the company’s minimum age requirement.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
• Ability to follow both written and verbal directions.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
