Joining the team at Winn-Dixie as a Liquor Department Associate means playing a vital role in fostering a safe, friendly, and efficient shopping atmosphere for customers. Your tasks will involve greeting, assisting, and thanking customers in a polite and timely manner, recommending products when suitable, and guaranteeing the freshness and correct stocking of department merchandise. You will also be responsible for monitoring customers to ensure they comply with age verification regulations, using department equipment safely, and upholding cleanliness and organization within the work area. Responsibilities of Liquor Department Associate:

• Monitor the customers and validate their age by inspecting their ID to confirm they meet the legal age requirement. Notice individuals who should not be served more drinks and prevent open containers from being taken outside.
• Restrict the sale of alcohol or tobacco products to customers who are underage or showing signs of intoxication.
• Maintain a constant awareness of customer needs by welcoming, assisting, expressing appreciation, and suggesting products in a cordial and polite manner when appropriate.
• Organize and revolve departmental inventory to sustain freshness and ensure adherence to date control, efficiently restock and utilize supplies to minimize excess, and operate equipment and tools associated with the department.
• Use cashiering tools accurately, acknowledging diverse payment forms and delivering accurate change when appropriate.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work area and alert management to any malfunctioning equipment or unsafe conditions.

Qualifications of Liquor Department Associate:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• TIPS training required prior to position start date.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, and follow instructions proficiently.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• High standard of integrity and reliability.
• Basic computer skills for online training.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
