Job Summary of Customer Service Clerk:

As a Customer Service Clerk, you will provide courteous support to customers by answering questions, processing transactions, and ensuring a smooth shopping experience. You will also help maintain a clean, organized workspace and assist team members with daily responsibilities.

Responsibilities of Customer Service Clerk:

  • Provide excellent and amiable customer assistance.
  • Follow the procedures and policies that are already in effect within the organization.
  • Regularly sanitize and tidy up the check-out areas while also being ready to assist in the swift cleanup of any spills or damaged items.
  • Keep a polished and well-maintained personal image always and adhere to the organization's personal appearance regulations.
  • Assist with specific projects and fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
  • Comply with the outlined management planning procedures to ensure continued effectiveness in the workplace.
  • Follow company safety guidelines diligently and notify management of any essential equipment maintenance or repairs. Keep the workspace organized and free from safety hazards.
  • It is important to treat all colleagues with justice, decency, and regard.
  • Carry out an exact price check procedure.
  • Monitor and limit the excessive use of store provisions, such as ribbons, receipt rolls, bags, and sanitation supplies.
  • Assist with sweeping floors during operating hours and take on other maintenance obligations such as tidying break rooms and restrooms when assigned.
  • Assist in the immediate cleanup of spills and broken glass or plastic items to eliminate risks and avoid accidents.
  • Uphold security regulations through vigilance and attentiveness towards customers' actions and demeanor.
  • Keep the manager or security informed about any strange actions observed.
  • Keep the inside and outside areas of the store neat and well-maintained.
  • Classify returnable bottles following supplier rules.
  • Execute any other assignments as designated.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to greet and assist all customers.
  • Follow the prescribed procedures for enclosing products in bags or packaging.
  • Ensure that return-to-stock items are promptly placed back on the shelves, giving high priority to refrigerated and perishable items.
  • Round up shopping carts and deliver them to designated spots for pickup and drop-off.
  • Adhere to the company's guidelines when offering carryout services.
  • Record the number of bottles returned through the cash register or bottle slip to facilitate a streamlined and effective customer experience.
  • Follow all safety standards diligently when working with the bottle crushing machine.
  • Must be able to satisfy the physical prerequisites of the position, with or without appropriate allowances.

Qualifications of Customer Service Clerk:

  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
  • Willingness to learn multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the technical requirements of the job.

Physical Requirements of Customer Service Clerk:

  • Regularly engaging in manual activities, like grasping, extending, and executing hand and arm movements, is expected while spending the majority of the time standing.
  • Regularly engage in bending and lifting activities, including handling items that weigh up to 15 pounds without interruption, lifting objects up to 25 pounds as a common task, and occasionally moving items weighing 50 pounds.
  • Push or pull up to 75 pounds on occasion.
  • Exhibit competence in managing various materials linked to cleaning agents, wrapping components, fresh vegetables and fruits, indoor greenery, and home sanitizers.
  • Work in adverse weather conditions as required by the job
  • Round up a total of five shopping carts and convey them to designated spots.
  • Rearrange empty containers and bottles from the storefront to the designated backroom location.
