Job Summary:Cash Checker

In the position of The Cash Checker, the central duty is to provide a friendly, quick, and accurate checkout experience for our patrons. This includes processing purchases, managing payments, and advertising BJ's membership opportunities, all while keeping the front end area clean and organized.

Core responsibilities, main tasks, and key accountabilities:

• Delivers exemplary member service by warmly greeting members, processing purchases promptly, and answering inquiries courteously.
• Utilizes the POS terminal to scan products accurately for pricing and inventory control purposes.
• Processes a range of payment types, including cash, check, credit, and mobile transactions.
• Discusses and clarifies the advantages of membership, extensions, and upgrades like BJ’s Loyalty and EASY Renewal schemes.
• Verifies the precision of all transactions by issuing receipts or providing accurate change to customers.
• Aids patrons navigating self-checkout and scan-and-go stations, addressing minor technical glitches.
• Ensures the front-end space, cash registers, and customer checkout aisles are kept tidy and organized.
• Stays up to date with promotions and advertisements to keep members informed about savings and special promotions.
• Conforming to all club policies and procedures to guarantee operational effectiveness and member approval.
• Completes extra assignments as instructed, including helping out in other departments as requested.
• It is crucial for this position that employees maintain a regular and predictable attendance record.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• Regularly engaged in standing and walking on solid ground.
• Intermittent stooping, reaching, and lifting loads weighing up to 30 pounds (heavier items aided by others).
• Mainly situated indoors with little exposure to temperature changes or loud noises.
• Sporadic exposure to household cleansers.
