Role and Responsibilities:

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items for cold cases, fresh packs, salad bars, and hot bars, maintaining sanitation and presentation standards. Your duties include ensuring consistency, preserving freshness, and providing exceptional customer service in alignment with Whole Foods Market's values and food safety practices.

• Prepare dishes for chilled showcases, meal packages, salad assortments, and warm serving stations according to production procedures and ingredient lists.
• Properly label, date, cover, monitor, and rotate all prepared items to maintain quality and freshness.
• Monitor food supply and replenish products as needed.
• Arrive on time, maintain proper grooming, and attend mandatory trainings and meetings.
• Deliver exceptional customer support, promptly respond to customer needs, and demonstrate effective upselling techniques.
• Enhance sales through proper preparation, storage, rotation, restocking, and merchandising of products.
• Adhere to Weights and Measures, health and sanitation standards, and safe operational procedures.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic work and retail environment; ensure equipment, storage, and refrigeration meet cleanliness standards.
• Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing tasks, verifying signage and pricing accuracy.
• Report safety issues and non-compliance promptly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership at various organizational levels.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong knowledge of products and ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Understanding of food production and basic culinary techniques.
• Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and portioning.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Ability to communicate respectfully and transparently with team members, customers, and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 12 months of retail experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly pay ranges from $16.50 to $30.20, based on experience, for a standard 40-hour workweek.
