Job Summary of Service Cashier:
As a Service Cashier, your role entails providing customers with a positive and efficient checkout experience by ensuring quick and precise transactions. You will be responsible for managing payments accurately and maintaining cleanliness and organization at the checkout counter area. Additionally, you will be expected to offer assistance to customers, participate in promoting charitable activities, and adhere to company policies and protocols to enhance the safety and convenience of the shopping process.
Responsibilities of Service Cashier:
- Conduct customer transactions with accuracy and effectiveness
- It is important to furnish appropriate alterations and proof of purchase for all acquired items.
- Have a good grasp of both product prices and their positions within the store.
- Greet guests and offer efficient and friendly service and assistance.
- Advocate for customer engagement with ongoing charitable programs and promotional offers currently available.
- Package customer orders in a safe, efficient, and well-organized manner, employing reusable or paper/plastic bags based on customer preference.
- Maintain a clean and organized front-end area, involving the registers, conveyor belts, and surrounding floor space.
- Take necessary precautions by following safety measures when working with cash and utilizing the register equipment.
- Comply with all corporate rules related to register operations, returns, cancellations, and approved overrides.
- Report any equipment, pricing, or customer-related issues to management promptly.
- Aid in replenishing grab-and-go selections and managing the upkeep of front-of-house marketing displays.
- Work alongside the front-end team and other units to ensure customer needs are met efficiently.
- Be at the checkout counter for the complete duration of the scheduled shift, with the possibility of working more than 8 hours per day.
- Be punctual and adhere to a regular attendance schedule.
- Be available for extended work hours as directed.
- Accomplish other tasks as specified.
Qualifications of Service Cashier:
- Must be 18 years or older to operate register equipment independently.
- Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English proficiently.
- Ability to perform basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to stand and walk for the entire duration of a scheduled shift.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs. regularly, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to handle multiple transactions quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and follow all company time and attendance policies.
