Job Summary:

Our Pastry Baker is a key player in making sure our pastries look and taste amazing. In addition to providing unparalleled guest service, you'll create beautiful and delicious art for our guests and provide the sweets that will be the hit of their parties. As a Team Member, you'll be part of a team that emphasizes building lifelong relationships with our customers by focusing on understanding and exceeding their needs. As a member of the Bakery team, your primary responsibility will be preparing and decorating the products and cakes in the department to ensure only the freshest are available.

Job Responsibilities:

• Carry cakes from the ready area to the sales spot to arrange a variety of pastries on tables and in display cases.
• Comply with the necessary steps to assist the store in reaching its out-of-stock percentage benchmarks.
• Leverage merchandising best practices to increase sales and create a memorable customer experience.
• Process specific requests from guests through telephone conversations and in-person interactions.
• Uphold product quality by consistently evaluating the sales area to verify the dates and state of the items being sold.
• Record known losses on a daily basis.
• Emphasize the importance of safety above everything else throughout our responsibilities to protect our employees, guests, and products.
• Provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers and ensuring they are able to locate the products they are looking for. Bakery Team Members are also expected to have sufficient knowledge to answer questions and make suggestions to our customers.
• Motivate your team and clients by exhibiting a strong passion for culinary creations and a willingness to go above and beyond to offer the finest dining experience.
• Comply with the stipulated guidelines for handling goods and tools according to food safety and safety protocols to sustain a safe shopping environment.
• Keep equipment, tables, tools, floors, and similar items clean to meet safety and hygiene requirements.
• Design and present items for the Bakery cases and exhibitions, consistently shifting their display and adhering to code dating protocols to guarantee the availability of only the most up-to-date products for customers.
• Uphold department standards by implementing proper safety and sanitation procedures, emergency protocols, steritech practices, safe lifting methods, and housekeeping routines.
• Precisely note down custom orders for Bakery items to ensure customer satisfaction with the completed product.
• Ensure compliance with department protocols, daily organization, order handling, awareness of copyright regulations, and suitable product turnover.
• Consistently update yourself on fresh product insights and operational methods, including product specifications based on categories, personalized orders, cake selection options, serving size guidelines, seasonal specialties, and color mixing techniques.
• Decorate cakes by spreading prepared icing onto them with spatulas and piping bags.
• Set up the frosting and supplies essential for all cakes and other ornamental items by carefully reading through recipes, measuring out ingredients, and thoroughly combining the mixture.
• Contribute to the efficiency of Bakery storage facilities by assisting with the reception of deliveries.
• Employ various tools in the department like mixers, scales, airbrush guns, knives, cut-resistant gloves, and anti-slip shoes for operational tasks.
• Give help in different areas as the situation calls for.

Job Requirements:

• Necessary Experience: Achievement of a job-specific skills assessment; a background spanning from 6 to 12 months or the triumphant participation in the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship initiative is obligatory
• A high school diploma is not mandatory for fulfilling this educational criterion
• Weight Capacity Needed: Up to 50 pounds for lifting
• Participants must meet the age criterion of 18 years
