Meat Cutter Assistant

Job Summary of Meat Cutter Assistant:

To cut meat and its associated products into a variety of sizes, types, and qualities as guided by the company's standards. Ensure proper trimming, packing, and labeling in order to uphold the quality, safety, and presentation of the products.

Responsibilities of Meat Cutter Assistant:

• Perform trimming and cutting activities according to the specified company standards.
• Abide by the Meat Manager or Meat Supervisor's directions for pricing and showcasing items in cases.
• Ensure that the work, exhibit, and storage areas are kept clean and sanitized.
• Ensure that the individual in charge is informed of any temperature deficiencies in the cases and storage facilities.
• Cultivate positive customer service experiences through the consistent provision of prompt and respectful service.
• Follow the structured policies and procedures of the department.
• Obey the guidelines concerning health weights and measures as stipulated by local, state, and federal statutes.
• Ensure compliance with the policies delineated in the Employee Handbook.
• Give a hand with wrapping and packaging tasks when the situation calls for it.
• Take delivery of, gauge, and decompose meats and connected materials.
• Adhere to OSHA standards for the maintenance and operation of equipment to uphold workplace safety.

Qualifications of Meat Cutter Assistant:

• Ability to read and write to properly tag product.
• Must have dexterity in hands to enable the cutting and trimming of the meats.
• Ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds at least forty percent (40%) of the time.
• Should have at least one year experience as a meat wrapper.
