Assistant Store Lead

Role and Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Store Director, your responsibilities include:

• Make employment-related and business decisions, including hiring, promoting, disciplining, rewarding, and resolving Partner-related matters.
• Lead Partners to maintain sanitation, safety, and overall store standards.
• Ensure performance management for all direct reports.
• Communicate and implement new company initiatives and programs.
• Provide guidance, direction, and oversight to ensure assignments are completed effectively.
• Oversee operations of the Gas Station, Cash Office, Business Center, and maintenance areas.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with company, federal, and state standards.
• Ensure product freshness, food safety, sanitation, and facility maintenance.
• Manage store sundry accounts, wrap and supply orders, claims, and damages.
• Identify and address shrink opportunities.
• Use financial analysis to evaluate business opportunities and recommendations.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and effectively.
• Collaborate with Department Managers to meet business needs.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Completion of School of Retail Leadership (SORL) training, or equivalent management experience with approval.
• Forklift and power jack training.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and conflict resolution abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and H-E-B systems.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with Partners at all levels.
• Organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and stressful situations in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven track record of retail management experience.
• Experience leading large teams and overseeing multi-department operations.
• Ability to value diversity and foster an inclusive work environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and carry 40 60 lbs on a regular basis.
• Stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, and reach overhead and side-to-side throughout shift.
• Function in a fast-paced environment requiring detailed work and precision.
• Exposure to moderate noise levels in the work environment.
• Work extended hours and varying schedules as required by business needs.
• Maintain composure and attentiveness to customer needs in high-stress situations.
